Last Friday September 8th, Sander Engineering visited the Jackrabbit WWTP and found that the flood waters have receded and was able to access the site off Pine Forest. Unfortunately, the water was about 4.5 feet in the control building and the power has not yet been shut off by CPE. In addition, water got into the fuel system of the onsite generator, so that generator is not available for use (at least not anytime soon). Severn Trent has been on site, cleaning up the mess, and doing what we can to get the plant up and running.
Severn Trent has brought in a generator which has been successfully connected to two of the lift pumps. Those lift pumps are in operation and pumping flow to the plant. The disinfection system is operating off that generator as well. No blowers are yet in operation, so flow is simply being pumped through the plant with a heavy dose of disinfection at the end. Severn Trent is expecting a second generator(s) for operating three blowers within the next few days. Severn Trent was able to determine that at least one (possibly a second) blower had water in it and has purchased two blower motors that have been delivered.
